Project 6: Advocacy and awareness raising

Background and justification

The long-term Programme objectives are increased awareness in SADC countries of the essential role of healthy work, and improved knowledge of health promotion and the prevention of occupational accidents and diseases. This project will run during all 12 years of the Programme. Below are the details related to the part of the project belonging to Phase I. Some of the activities are necessary as a basis for further actions during the coming years. Major stakeholders must be informed about the needs, and then act accordingly. From other countries and regions it has often been proved that good practice is a useful tool. Successful interventions in occupational health need to be published to promote a positive environment and influence policy makers.
